HER FATHER'S ACCIDENT LEADING UP TO HER PASSING
On Oct. 23, 2013, Vanessa's father, Willie, asked Vanessa to watch her niece so that he could take his brand-new Harley Davidson motorcycle for a ride. This was a dream of his that Elsa, his wife, finally approved of due to concerns of his previous injuries endured during his service in the Navy. Of course, on a perfectly beautiful day, with less than 12 miles on his bike, Willie was hit by a car that ran a stop sign. Willie was severely injured but luckily, he survived. Before we knew if he was going to make it, Vanessa blamed herself for her father's accident. She felt that if she never agreed to watch her niece, the whole accident would have never happened.

VANESSA'S PASSING, Nov. 21, 2013
Days after feeling the guilt of her father's accident, Vanessa began seeking comfort through friends who had access to pain killer medications. She made some wrong choices and ultimately it cost her, her life. On Nov. 19, 2013, Vanessa ingested Fentanyl, a larger dose than her body could handle, yet her friends survived. Vanessa was found by her mother the next morning, with just enough time to attempt CPR. The paramedics were able to get Vanessa back just enough to let us say goodbye. On Nov. 21, 2013, Vanessa's brain damage was too extensive to survive. Many classmates came to see Vanessa and then, surrounded by her family and friends, we let Vanessa rest peacefully, eternally, with our Lord, Jesus Christ. The world will never be the same but God is good and I know we will see her again, in the Kingdom of Heaven.
